Annual CTC breakdown
{{ it.label }}{{ it.valueFmt }}
How this breakdown is calculated
Your CTC is split into components that together add up to what your employer spends on you each year. Basic salary anchors most other components as a percentage of itself.
Basic = CTC × 40% · HRA = Basic × 50% · PF = 12% of Basic
Example: on a ₹10,00,000 CTC, basic salary works out to roughly ₹4,00,000 and HRA to ₹2,00,000 per year.
Tips for negotiating your structure
- A higher basic means higher PF savings but also higher taxable income.
- Ask for tax-efficient components like meal cards, LTA and NPS contributions.
- Always ask for the full breakup letter, not just the CTC number, before accepting an offer.
- Compare in-hand pay across offers, not just the headline CTC.
