How this is calculated
This calculator adds your tip to the bill total, then divides evenly across everyone in the group so nobody has to do the maths at the table.
Per Person = (Bill × (1 + Tip%)) / People
Example: a ₹4,000 bill with a 10% tip split between 4 people comes to ₹1,100 each.
Tips for splitting fairly
- For very uneven orders, split by item first, then share tax and tip equally.
- Settle up immediately with UPI rather than letting IOUs pile up.
- Agree on the tip percentage before the bill arrives to avoid awkwardness.
- For recurring group expenses (like rent), use a fixed monthly split instead.
